Wayanad is a northern district of Kerala, bordering Tamilnadu and Karnataka. Owing to the forest reserve of Wayanad and proximity to Bandipur and Nagarhole wildlife, Wayanad enjoys a comfortable weather almost round the year. Generally, the summer temperature in Wayanad is 20 to 36° C, while winter temperature in Wayanad is between 10 to 26° C. Plentiful monsoon between June and August maintains the hill station with sufficient water resources, even during the summer.
Summer in Wayanad is April to May. Though, towards starting of May, it becomes hot in Wayanad, most of the tourist places can be visited comfortably, except trekking destinations. Sunscreen and shades are must during this time.
Monsoon Period in Wayanad is Jun to August. It is the best season to visit Wayanad, if you are a nature lover to see it at best. Carry your umbrella and floaters.
Winter in Wayanad picks up by first week of December and lasts till Jan end. December is the time for Wayanad, witnessing the maximum visit of tourists. During December-January, mornings and evenings are foggy and light winter dresses may be carried.
Best time to visit Wayanad is during August to March. The weather will be comfortable for visit and also all the tourist destinations will be opened.
